The connector tubes from the first to the second valve casing, and from the second to the third are parallel to the leadpipe on mine, whereas, on the pictured cornet these tubes run at a slant upward. ![]() The valve block looks to be the same, or very nearly so. OLDLOU: After reading your comment per the old cornet pictured, I just had to get out my grandfathers Wurlitzer Improved Symphony cornet, also engraved in the bell logo as being made in Cincinatti,Ohio. oh, wait! I have several of those! They are the Eb extensions that come with old mellophones! Except someone has lopped off a bit of the bottom arm. Gsmonks: That doubled-back section of brass looks very familiar.
